Hunting Permits

Maple Grove issues permits for limited hunting of deer and geese. To hunt in the city you must possess a valid deer or goose hunting permit signed by the police department.

In order to receive a permit to hunt you must:

  1. Complete the permit application and include the signature of the landowner(s) giving you permission to hunt in a specific location.
  2. Return the completed application to the Hunting Coordinator at the Maple Grove Police Department.
  3. Pay a fee of $15.00 for deer hunting or $10.00 for goose hunting.
  4. Attend a hunter orientation class. 

Classes start at 6:00 p.m. and are held at the Maple Grove Government Center.  Class dates for 2010 have not been scheduled.  Please check back.

2010 Hunting Requirement:

All Maple Grove hunters, no matter of age, are required to show proof of possessing a Firearm Safety Certificate, advanced hunter education, or bow hunter safety certificate (archers only).
