Fire Inspection staff is responsible for code compliance in new and existing buildings throughout the community. This includes:
Staff investigates the origin and cause of every fire that they respond to. The Deputy Fire Marshal along with the investigation team is responsible for the investigation of any fire
- with significant loss
- involving a fatality or injury
- involving juveniles
- intentionally set
- accidently set
Data compiled by the department is shared with state agencies in hopes of identifying similar trends in fires that can be resolved through education, control, and even product recall.
